OFFICE OF VICTIM & FAMILY SERVICES (OVFS)

The OVFS is one of the most important functions of the CPU in providing support and welfare to the child victim and their family. Being able to provide a wide range of support services to the child enhances the prospect of recovery.

Office of Victim and Family Services (OVFS)

Introduction

 An important role of the CPU is to provide legal representation to all child victims and their families, to ensure that the child’s rights are protected throughout the investigative and prosecutorial process and that the prosecution of the offender is expedient and complies with the lawful process. This support includes all legal representation and support for the child and family to get to court and ensure that the families do not suffer financially as a result of the legal process. 

SERVICES

CPU Services

The CPU provides a wide range of support services to a child and family that have been a victim of a serious crime including:


  • Medical Evacuations to specialist
  • hospitals including hospitals in Thailand and Vietnam if required,
  • Ongoing medical support and rehabilitation
  • Emergency accommodation,
  • Emergency food support packages,
  • Financial assistance,
  • Educational opportunities,
  • Psychological support and counselling,
  • Relocation where required.
